Signal Problems won’t have too many performances of note until August or so (with the exception of an afternoon performance at Pianos in NYC on June 15th where we’ll be working out some new music), but there’s still plenty of chances to hear us with other people!
Most notably, Adam is going to Europe with Josh Sinton‘s Ideal Bread! That band just released an amazing two CD set of re-arrangements of Steve Lacey’s music (artwork by T.J. Huff who did the Signal Problems record!) on Cuneiform and they’re playing in Belgium, Amsterdam, and Germany June 6-8 (more info).
Nathan is becoming one of the most in demand young drummers in NYC, and you can probably see him any given night. He just left for a short tour of his own with Olli Hirvonen and Marty Kelley:
5/28 Minneapolis, MN, Christ Church Lutheran 7:30PM
5/30 Seattle, WA, The Swedish Club 7:30PM
6/1 Portland, OR, The Tardis Room 7:00PM
6/2 Sacramento, CA, Luna’s Cafe 7:30PM
6/3 Palo Alto, CA, First Presbyterian Church, 7:30PM
Danny is staying local these days in advance of his wedding in July, but you still have two chances to hear him in NYC with Will McEvoy’s group which will be playing the music of Ornette Coleman. This is a special group that rehearses Ornette’s music extensively, somewhat of a rarity in NYC where everyone is on the go:
6/19 at Douglass Street Music Collective (w/ above plus Josh Sinton)
Eric is one of the hardest working saxophonists in NYC right now, and you can probably find him performing on any given day with a wide variety of musicians. Perhaps the most notable performance, though, was a recent premiere of Gabriel Zucker’s Evergreen by The Delegation at The Jazz Gallery on May 6th. Here’s an excerpted performance from ShapeShifter Lab:
